There are various Tiers of Illuvium Land. Higher Tiers represent increasing rarity and higher Fuel and Element Generation. You can play Illuvium Zero on a free T0 Land (unavailable during Alpha testing) or purchase a T1-5 Land to participate in the earning economy.
There are only 100,000 plots of Land in total; the first 20,000 were sold during our first Land Sale.
To access the Alpha Version of Illuvium: Zero, you will need to own at least one plot of land. These can be purchased through the Illuvidex.
Please note that free-to-play land plots will not be available during the alpha testing phase but will be implemented in a future release. These free-to-play plots are not connected to the blockchain and you will not be able to transfer anything from them to other games.
You can purchase Land, directly from Illuvium, in the next Land Sale. Date TBA.
You can also purchase Land from current Landowners through the Illuvium marketplace
Fuel Earnings: Landowners will earn approximately 5% of all in-game revenue. Players can extract Fuel from Tier 1-5 Land, which is connected to the economy of Illuvium and can be sold on the IlluviDex for Ethereum (ETH). Landowners play their Land plot in the Illuvium Zero game to build up their Land and produce Fuel and Elements. After building necessary structures, players can trade their Fuel at anytime for ETH.
Blueprint Generation: Using a Singularity Scanner, Landowners scan for Illuvials to produce Biodata. The Biodata is Researched in the Materials Lab to Discover Blueprints. Blueprints can be minted as an NFT and then sold on the IlluviDex for ETH or used to craft new cosmetic skins.
Players use Fuel as currency in all games in the Illuvium Universe. There are three types of Fuel: Crypton, Hyperion and Solon. Fuel is connected to the Illuvium Overworld and Arena economy; additionally, it will be connected to all future Illuvium games. Fuel is also used for constructing Advanced Structures in Illuvium Zero. All Fuel Sites on Illuvium Land are of equal rarity, although market conditions may mean their relative value fluctuates over time. Players may use their Fuel in Illuvium Zero to progress their Land development or trade it on the IlluviDex for Ethereum (ETH).
In the Illuvium Universe, there are three different types of fuel Hyperion, Solon, and Crypton. These fuels are used in the Illuvium ecosystem for various purposes, such as curing shards, crafting weapons and upgrades, and traveling to different regions. Fuel production is driven by Illuvium Zero
In Illuvium: Overworld
- Hyperion is used to cure shards and capture Illuvials,
- Solon is used to craft weapons, armor, and other upgrades,
- Crypton is used to travel to different regions.
In Illuvium: Zero
Hyperion, Solon, and Crypton are commonly used in high-level buildings. These fuel types may be required in order to build or upgrade certain structures
FUEL only exists as an in-game currency until it is sold on the balancer pool. As a result, it cannot be transferred to another wallet or Land Plot.
Alpha release will be the first opportunity for Landowners to play their Land plots in Illuvium Zero. This is also Illuvium’s opportunity to do a large scale testing, balancing and adjustments to the game. During the Alpha version of Illuvium Zero, the earning economy will not be live. Players can keep Blueprints earned in Alpha as our way of saying thank you for playing and helping us to test the game. Illuvium Land will only begin to generate revenue when Illuvium Zero launches with the main Illuvium Open Beta.

In the current version of Illuvium: Zero, it is not possible to rent land.
Megacities allow adjacent plots that make up a 2x2 or 3x3 square to be combined to form one larger plot.
The expected benefits of a mega-city are:
- the ability to share landmark bonuses between plots,
- the ability to share resources between plots with no transfer cost (in either time or resources)
- the ability to share support buildings like the Engineering Lab resulting in increased available space.
Megacities are not currently available in Illuvium: Zero and a specific date for their implementation has not been announced.
Credits, in Illuvium: Zero, are a premium currency that can be used to perform special actions that yield significant quality-of-life benefits.
Credits can be used for:
- Activity speed-ups (such as construction & plant removal)
- Purchasing additional builder slots. (this is not available during the alpha.)
There are several ways to obtain Credits in Illuvium: Zero, including through in-game actions such as removing plants or completing goals, as well as in-game purchases.
During the Alpha you can obtain credits through in-game actions such as clearing plants, but you will not be able to purchase credits.
The alpha testing for Illuvium: Zero is expected to be split into two seasons.
Season 0 is currently planned to last for 6 to 8 weeks, at the end of which all data (including blueprints) will be wiped and reset. The purpose of Season 0 is to allow the development team to fix bugs and balance issues and prevent any issues that may arise if player data needs to be reset.
After Season 0, the game will move on to Season 1, which will last until the open beta stage. Another data reset is expected at the end of Season 1. However, players will be able to mint the blueprints they researched as NFTs during the last few months of Season 1. Those minted NFTs will persist beyond the Alpha data reset and can be used to craft skins in the Overworld once we reach the Open Beta.
More information on the minting windows will be provided as the game approaches the open beta stage.
During the alpha, Illuvium: Zero will be available on android, windows, and mac platforms.
